Samsung has officially launched Android 11 for the Galaxy S20 devices |
Verizon announced that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be the company's first mobile phone to receive Android 11 via US One UI 3.0.
Now the update has started to attract customers and over the past few months, One UI 3.0 has been in public beta but has now officially arrived.
One UI 3.0 includes many messaging, notification and security functions for Android 11, in addition to other One UI functions.
Samsung has added easier ways to access tools, take screenshots, and double tap the screen to put the phone to sleep.
One UI 3.0 international release appears to have started outside of the United States. Samsung sent the full release date schedule to users in Egypt, so the Galaxy S20 flagship got Android via One UI 3.0 on December 11th.
According to the schedule, the phones that will receive the update will be the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 phones in January 2021.
At this point, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip foldable products will also receive One UI 3.0, but the Galaxy Fold will have to wait until February.
The update may take a while to be available on all supported Samsung phones. However, don't expect it to appear on the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, or Galaxy A30S until August.
Android 11 has a lot of features to deal with the complexities of modern Android phones. There is however a fragmentation issue, as Google and Samsung have already begun to re-integrate their Android system.
It is known that releasing updates for Samsung is a long time as it took five months to ship Android 9.
Samsung has tried to change this over the years as the calendar has become more manageable. It took three months for the Android 10 update to hit the first line of phones, and the Android 11 update is on the right track.
Issues like segmentation are important. Because Samsung is the largest cell phone manufacturer in the world and the best-selling Android mobile phone company in the United States.
This means that the widespread adoption of new features will largely depend on the company's decision to include them in the new version of One UI.
