As with all good things, it takes time to be full of your own taste and touch. The Chemex coffee machine provides only the essentials for strong coffee flavor, so your personal tastes and styles shine.
Step 1: thorough research
Choose your favorite whole coffee beans that you want to try and grind them on medium coarse ground.
Optional tip: We recommend using a stapler because this provides an even particle size so that the coffee and a cup of coffee can be extracted evenly.
The second step: examination
Open the Chemex Cone coffee filter so that one side of the cone has three layers, then place it over the Chemex brewing machine. The thick portion (three layers) should cover the pouring spout.
Optional tip: wet the filter with lukewarm water to rinse and warm the infuser. Once the water drains completely through the filter, pour it out of the coffee machine, keeping the filter and the wall of the coffee machine closed.
Step 4: let it bloom
After boiling the right amount of water, remove it from the stove and let it boil vigorously.
Pour a small amount of water over the ground coffee to moisturize it, wait 30 seconds to open it, then loosen the finest coffee elements from the ground coffee.
Optional tip: The ideal brewing temperature is around 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 5: pour first
Once the ground coffee beans have opened, slowly pour the water over the kernels keeping the water level well below the top of the chemical mixture (a quarter of an inch or more).
Step 6: prepare the coffee
Pour the remaining water into the coffee powder slowly or in a circular motion as you pour it to make sure the coffee powder is brewed evenly.
Step 3: Exclusive Messages
Add 1 tablespoon of ground coffee for every 5 ounces. Cut the filter cone. Feel free to use more if you prefer. Our Chemex fermentation process eliminates the bitter taste.
TIP: For all breweries other than the smaller sized models, the "button" indicates the mug is full and the bottom of the wood collar / mouth indicates that it is full. With a pint of brewing machine the button is full.
Step 7: Ignore the filter
After brewing the required amount of coffee, remove the filter with the ground coffee from the infusion and discard it.
Step 8: Enjoy the perfect cup
Pour fresh coffee into a Chemex cup and enjoy the taste.
Stay warm
To keep your coffee warm, you can place Chemex directly on a glass stove or in a flame heated with a small fire. If you have a coil-type electric fireplace consider using a Chemex (TKG) stainless steel wire mesh between the Chemex and the coil to prevent breakage. Before placing the mug on the hot heating element, make sure there is no liquid in the mug.
Keep it clean
This carefully cleaned and handled Chemex Brewing Machine offers you lifetime service. Remove the wooden handle and continue washing your hands in hot, soapy water or place the coffee maker securely in the dishwasher.
