Qualcomm announces its latest Snapdragon 678 processor |
Qualcomm on Tuesday announced its latest Snapdragon 678 processor for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The American chip company said in a statement that the new processor is an addition to the Snapdragon 675 processor. In addition to improving its photo and video recording capabilities, it also improves overall performance.
“We're a one-stop shop for OEMs by providing next-generation devices with the features and performance they need,” said Kedar Kundap, Qualcomm's Vice President of Product Management. He added, "(Snapdragon 678) provides advanced mobile features for everyday entertainment through reliable, high-speed connections and long battery life provided by consumers around the world."
Qualcomm said: (Snapdragon 678) compared to the processor (Snapdragon 675), it offers a number of improvements, including increasing the speed of the Kryo 460 processor to 2.2 GHz in addition to the Adreno 612 graphics processing unit (Adreno 612).
In addition to these performance improvements, the Snapdragon 678 also supports dynamic imaging and video recording capabilities. The Qualcomm Spectra 250L ISP module supports photos with three cameras, the maximum pixel is 48 megapixels and the following functions: portrait mode, low-light shooting and laser autofocus.
Users can use the recording feature to record 4K videos such as slow motion recording, 5x optical zoom, portrait mode and dual front cameras that support up to 16MP.
To improve your entertainment experience, Qualcomm's new processors are optimized for game engines such as Unity, Messiah, NeoX, and Unreal Engine 4.
The Snapdragon 678 processor is equipped with the Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, which provides fast response time and ultra-fast upload and download speeds. The modem supports 600 Mbps upload and 150 Mbps upload.
