Microsoft sells a Microsoft Paint jacket |
Microsoft sold Microsoft Paint-themed vests through its online store, and donated a portion of every sale to Girls Who Code.
This non-profit organization aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science by equipping young women with the computer skills needed to seize the opportunities of the twenty-first century through education and educational resources.
In the past, the company used to make T-shirts with the Windows XP and Windows 95 logos and pass them on to influencers and fans. However, this was the first time the company had sold shirts directly to customers.
Microsoft has enjoyed these promotions in the past, even wrapping old Windows XP shirts in Windows XP boxes.
Since Microsoft Paint is installed with the Windows OS and is not sold separately, it's hard to see how this year's jacket will be wrapped.
The company clearly has some supporters for this product as their store has run out of Windows XP and Windows 95 sweatshirts.
Microsoft Paint sweatshirts cost $ 69.99 each, and will sell for $ 20 per sale in Codes Girls Who from December 1 through December 23.
Microsoft has announced plans to donate at least $ 50,000 to nonprofits as part of this promotion.
Microsoft also offers wallpaper images for Windows and Microsoft Paint for Skype and Teams, although the theme hasn't changed.
Microsoft started this trend in 2018 with T-shirts with the Windows 95 logo and in 2019 with T-shirts with the Windows XP logo.
