| LG launches disinfection robots to contain Corona |
LG Electronics has launched a disinfection robot called LG Cloi DisinfectBot to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The company was originally scheduled to launch the robot during the Korea Electronics Show 2020, December 9-12, 2020.
LG Cloi DisinfectBot has UV-C lights on the left and right.
According to LG Electronics, the UV emission wavelength is between 100 and 280 nm, which may effectively kill bacteria.
The company said: The National Research Institute (Qualified Laboratory in South Korea) showed that the UV-C robot lamp can kill 99.9% of coliforms and Staphylococcus aureus in a one-meter radius.
The robot has a height of 160 cm and is equipped with autonomous driving technology to overcome obstacles. LG Electronics added that the robot is designed to disinfect objects and areas that can be approached by hand.
LG Electronics uses LG Cloi DisinfectBot in locations with many independent rooms such as hotels, hospitals and schools.
The company said: These robots will help reduce the workload of health care workers when disinfection is more important than ever due to the Corona epidemic.
The company is also developing alternative versions to use UV-C lamps in place of disinfectant sprays.
LG Electronics said: This version is more suitable for places with larger open spaces such as offices, restaurants, and transportation stations.
“Sterilization robots can be used when hygiene management is as important as it is today,” said Nuj Qiu-chan, General Manager Robotics Business at LG Electronics.
He added: We will continue to introduce different concepts of sterilizing robots that will work better based on the type and size of the room and we will work hard so that customers can enjoy a better life. Sure.
There has been an increase in new coronavirus cases in South Korea this month, and the capital, Seoul, imposed a new curfew from 9:00 p.m. on restaurants and cafes.
Last month, LG Electronics began a test to introduce its internal robots.
LG Cloi ServeBot is expected to introduce products from the GS25 local supermarket chain to everyone at the company's Seoul headquarters, LG Science Park.
