LG is launching automatic doors made of transparent OLED screens |
LG has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ASSA ABLOY Entrance, the global leader in automatic doors for industrial and residential buildings, to develop transparent automatic doors that support OLED technology.
"The company intends to launch the first transparent automatic door this week to support OLED automatic screen technology, taking into account commercial applications," the South Korean technology giant said in a statement.
LG stated that the new product combines transparent OLED signage from Sweden's LG with a SuperSign-based content management platform into an automated sliding glass door manufactured by ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Sweden.
LG said: The OLED transparent automatic door opening system opens new possibilities for greeting customers by writing welcome messages, communicating with employees and providing consumers with promotional and marketing content.
With LG's WRGB technology, the company said: Self-illuminating OLED pixels can reproduce accurate colors, excellent brightness and high contrast. The Korean company's transparent OLED technology is scalable and can be easily adapted to different doors and entrances. In addition, transparency makes objects behind the screen easier to see, so the product blends in with its surroundings and provides useful information. Due to its robust glass design, this product in combination with the ASSA ABLOY Entry System automatic sliding door provides excellent durability and superior security.
It should be noted that LG launched a series of transparent signs early last year. These signs are now visible in the real world. In August last year, the company announced that its screens would be used in subway windows in Beijing and Shenzhen, China. OLED-Info reported that Panasonic and Xiaomi's transparent OLED TVs are using LG screens. .
