Google allows restrictions on advertising, alcohol and gambling |
Google said Thursday that it will allow users to limit the number of alcoholic drinks and gambling ads they see.
It is believed that this feature could be welcomed by many users, especially those who do not wish to see alcoholic beverages or gambling ads, or who wish to avoid using these features.
Although Google previously allowed users to hide certain ads, this change affected categories of ads. The company has restricted categories based on age and national laws, and the new changes only allow users to apply these restrictions to themselves.
According to reports, the settings for these two categories are separate. Therefore, if the user accepts gambling ads instead of alcoholic beverage ads, or vice versa, he can allow one category without the other. Please note that this feature only promises to reduce, not eliminate, the amount of alcohol and gambling ads you see.
Google said: Starting with YouTube ads in the US, this feature will gradually be rolled out in ad settings to make this functionality available to Google and YouTube ads around the world in early 2021.
If a user wants to turn off alcohol and gambling ads, they can go to the ad settings page. When the change reaches his account, a button will appear at the bottom of the ad page allowing it to be completed.
It should be noted that this step, in cooperation with Google, solved some of the problems faced by users of the Android operating system, which led to the suspension of the SMS service due to changes in the company.
Once the problem started, Google rolled back some changes to fix the problem. The company confirmed to The Verge that repairs are already underway. “We realized the issue and started rolling out a fix yesterday. If automatic updates are disabled for users, we recommend that you update to the latest version of the operator services through the Play Store to receive this update.
