Complain that iOS 14.2 is seriously draining your battery |
Users of Apple developer forum and website (Reddit) often complained that iOS 14.2 is causing serious battery drain problems.
Symptoms of this problem include faster battery draining and longer than usual charging times. Some users have complained that their device lost more than 50% of its performance in less than 30 minutes and then saw a sharp drop of about 5% within 5 minutes of normal use.
The problem appears to be software related. Because many users noticed that the battery level remained elevated for a while before the rapid drop, and the power level reached a surprisingly higher percentage after restarting the device.
It seems that all affected iPhones are older versions, for example: iPhone 10S, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s and 1st generation iPhone SE. It appears that the 2018 version of iPad Pro tablets running iOS 14.2 has also been affected.
It was reported that Apple released iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 just two weeks after iOS 14.1 and iPadOS 14.1. This is the second update after the last release of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 that was released last September.
There are no new reports that the battery issue was fixed in iOS 14.2.1, which was released about two weeks ago, to address the lock screen freeze issue on the new iPhone. 12 minutes
Apple said: The iOS 14.2.1 will also fix the problem of not receiving MMS messages and fix the sound quality problem in some hearing aids in the iPhone.
Apple has reportedly released public betas of iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 to Apple to fix the issue with this update. The third update for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 supports Apple ProRAW and improves the following apps: Family, Health, and Weather.
