IOS 15 does not support the original iPhone 6s and iPhone SE devices |
Apple plans to end support for the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus phones in the iOS 15 release next year, according to a new report.
Earlier this year, Apple was compatible with all of these devices via iOS 14.
The report from Verifier, the company has a different record in Apple rumors as the site previously reported that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 will not be updated after iOS 12.
It is also reported that iOS 14 will support all iPhones similar to iOS 13.
This means that iOS 15 will work on the following iPhones:
- IPhone 2021
- IPhone 12 Pro Max
- IPhone 12 Pro
- IPhone 12 mini
- IPhone 12
- IPhone 11
- IPhone 11 Pro
- IPhone 11 Pro Max
- IPhone XS
- IPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X.
- IPhone 8
- IPhone 8 Plus
- IPhone 7
- IPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone SE (2nd generation).
- iPod touch (7th generation).
Apple released iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in September 2015 and launched iPhone SE in March 2016. These devices are very popular and have received software updates from Apple for more than four years.
With the introduction of the iPhone 12 mini and the second generation iPhone SE, Apple is now selling two modern devices that match the design of the iPhone 6s, as the second-generation iPhone SE has roughly the same design as the iPhone SE. iPhone 6s, but with A13 processor.
IPhone 12 mini is smaller, but has a bigger screen due to its borderless design, A14 processor, and improved camera system.
Apple is often praised for its software updates, especially for iOS and iPadOS.
Compared to Android, although some manufacturers have made new promises over the past three years, Apple frequently releases new versions of iOS, even for models older than three years.
Apple's decision on hardware support is usually based on the processor as the first-generation iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone SE use the A9 processor.
It looks like iOS 15 can finally release the iPhone 5.
