Huawei schedules the launch of the first beta version of HarmonyOS for its phones |
Huawei has previously officially confirmed that some of its EMUI 11 phones, which are based on Google's Android 10 operating system, will be able to install their own operating system (HarmonyOS 2.0), HarmonyOS 2.0.
The new version of the Chinese operating system is being gradually released to developers, and the beta version of the first phone is expected to be launched in December.
The open source platform for the system will be open to developers on December 18th, and the system will arrive in its first beta module in January or February 2021, said Wang Chenlu, head of software division at Huawei.
Wang announced that all Huawei employees are building a new ecosystem around the concept of "harmony." So now everything is going according to plan. When the employee report is first released in the first quarter of 2021, a public beta version is expected in April 2021.
Once the final update is released, about 90% of the company's smartphones are expected to be ready for the update, the CEO said.
According to a message published on the Chinese social networking site (Weibo) in early October last year, the mobile phone equipped with the Huawei Kirin 9000 processor will be the first mobile phone to receive the system, including: 40 Mate 40 cell phones-series. You will then receive a Kirin 990 5G processor, including: P40 and Mate30 (Mate 30). Then you get a phone with the Kirin 710 processor and the old Kirin 810 processor.
It is worth noting that Huawei officials said last August that the company has no plans to launch smartphones with the HarmonyOS operating system this year, but it will continue to rely on the Android system.
Huawei also unveiled HarmonyOS in August last year. It is being upgraded to better and faster Android because it uses fewer lines of code and can power smart products like cars, televisions, and watches.
