Apple is rolling out the translation feature in Safari in more countries |
After Apple announced iOS, iOS 14, and macOS Big Sur at WWDC in June this year, it launched its translation app this year.
Translator is a standalone app on iPhone and a built-in feature for macOS Big Sur users in the Safari web browser.
The translator app supports 11 languages, but the built-in Safari translator is limited to certain regions. This situation has now changed as Apple has introduced this option in more countries.
For unknown reason, not all countries / regions supported by the translator app provide Safari Translator. Now the problem has changed as several users from different countries are reporting that Safari Translator is enabled.
Some users from countries like Brazil and Germany have indicated that this translation option is now available in Safari.
According to user reports, Apple has enabled the remote translation option as it works on iOS 14.1 and the latest iOS 14.2.
macOS Big Sur Beta and macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 are identical.
This feature allows you to quickly translate text on any webpage written in a language other than yours.
Translator app and Safari translator can use the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
All translations are locally processed with a neural engine so that the translation app will work normally even without an internet connection. When connected to the internet, the app uses Apple's servers to process the translation, which makes the results more accurate.
You can write text for translation or use the dictation function to translate speech content. IOS can read the translated content with correct pronunciation, which is very useful for communicating with others and learning other languages.
The user can bookmark the translation for later review, and the app also keeps a record of the last translation.
