Huawei has officially announced the launch date of the Mate 40 |
Huawei CEO Yu Yudong announced today (Saturday) on the Chinese social networking site Weibo that the global launch of the Huawei Mate 40 mobile phone has officially started.
Yu said, the event will take place on October 22 at 2:00 pm CET (3:00 pm Mecca Time).
In addition to the poster that Yu shared, a very short trailer for Eyes and Iris was also released. While this does not say much about the upcoming mobile phones, some hope that the Mate 40 will be able to offer expanded specifications in optical zoom technology.
Unlike flagship phones from other companies, the upcoming Huawei flagships haven't seen many leaks lately. However, according to the MIIT license, the company plans to launch three models, namely, (Mate 40), (Mate 40 Pro), Mate 40 Pro and (Mate 40 Pro Plus) + Mate 40 Pro.
Also released are fictional images of the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro. The images show the glass design of both phones, in addition to the front camera and two small openings for the curved screen. The front camera hole of the Mate 40 Pro is seen in the video.
As for the hardware, the Mate 40 is expected to feature the Huawei (Kirin 9000) Kirin 9000 processor, which could be the first 5nm processor with an integrated 5G modem.
Various reports indicate that Huawei expects cell phone sales to be slow while processor production is limited and the marketing time for the Mate 40 phones may be postponed until next year.
As for the camera, the phone is expected to have a 108-megapixel main camera on the back with a 9P lens in addition to a 5x periscope zoom unit. Other lenses can be ultra-wide angle lenses and ToF sensors. There have been reports that the phone supports 66W fast charging technology.
