General Motors announces the launch of the electric Hummer |
Ten years later, General Motors has officially revived the Hummer brand, but the trucks are very different from the past as pickup trucks are now electric.
Hummer is well known for its SUV and SUV industry and is often criticized for its high fuel consumption.
The new GMC Hummer EV does not consume any fuel because it is electric only and this function can improve driving behavior on uneven roads.
Another difference is that the Hummer brand is now a subsidiary of GMC models and not a separate brand.
The only thing the Hummer did not seem to be losing was power as it was designed to be one of the most powerful pickups on the market thanks to four-wheel drive and three electric motors, and the total power can reach 1,000 hp.
In addition to performance, the GMC Hummer EV also offers other features not available on other pickups.
The wheel steering system allows the truck to move diagonally, not just back and forth, and this type of manipulation can facilitate entry and exit into tight spaces.
The trucks also feature the latest version of GM Super Cruise technology that allows hands-free driving on major highways.
According to General Motors, the drive mode allows the truck to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about three seconds and surpass 350 miles at a full load.
The GMC Hummer EV's adjustable air suspension features a "pull" mode that allows the truck to lift up to 6 inches to remove obstructions or descend from the ground.
The camera can provide up to 18 different fields of view around and under the truck to help you pass obstacles.
The truck also has a removable roof that can be stored in the trunk of the car, and the rear windows are hidden for a complete outdoor driving experience.
The battery is protected by steel plates to prevent damage in the field.
The truck will start production this fall, and its special version is called the "Edition 1". The price of the truck is $ 112,000.
General Motors will soon produce a cheaper version that starts at around $ 100,000. A less powerful twin-engine truck version will be available for $ 80,000 from 2024.
