Apple has no right to reap the rewards of Fortnite |
Epic Games has once again responded to Apple with a new legal document stating that iPhone manufacturers are not entitled to Fortnite.
This new registration is part of an attempt (Epic Games) to prevent Apple from claiming damages.
In August, Epic Games introduced a new direct payment system in the popular Fortnite game to bypass Apple's 30% fee.
Apple responded by breaking the rules and removing Fortnite from the App Store. (Epic Games) has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing the iPhone maker of violating antitrust laws.
(Epic Games) also revealed that Apple threatened to terminate the developer account used to support the company's Unreal Engine platform, which would prevent Epic Games from developing future games for iOS and Mac.
Earlier this month, US Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers issued an injunction banning retaliation against Apple (Unreal Engine). However, it refused to issue an injunction to return Fortnite to the Apple App Store.
Apple said it will seek compensation from (Epic Games) for allegedly breaching its contract with the iOS App Store. The document also contains allegations of unlawful enrichment and malicious interference in Apple's customer relationships.
So far, Apple has insisted that its actions were taken for legitimate business reasons, including threatening to shut down developer accounts linked to the Unreal Engine platform.
The complaint stated that Apple's behavior was reasonable at all times and that it was in good faith to promote legitimate business interests and promote, encourage and increase competition.
"It appears that Epic Games has ignored their contractual obligations and other flaws and caused significant damage to Apple."
(Epic Games) said in the new file: Your actions are far from harmful or criminal.
She added: (Epic Games) did not steal anything related to Apple, steal the proceeds from the sale of its creative work, or detract from the potential economic benefits that Apple was trying to reap from Fortnite users.
Epic Games Books: Apple's repeated allegations of theft are limited to the extraordinary claim that Fortnite payments are Apple's business, even as players pay to take advantage of the work of artists, designers, and engineers (Epic Games).
Rogers said the case should be decided by a jury and provide an experimental framework for summer 2021. Understanding what real people think is important. Are these financial problems important to people?
