Xiaomi announces its first 82-inch mini-LED TV |
Xiaomi announced today the launch of the world's first 82-inch smart LED TV.
The Chinese company is said to have launched two versions of the device, one with 4K resolution (Xiaomi Mi TV Master) and the other being the extreme version of 8K resolution.
The Extreme Edition has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels, four times that of 4K. The display supports 10-bit technology, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. The TV also has a brightness level of 2,000 nits and a contrast level of 400,000: 1.
Mini LED technology is an advanced local dimming solution with 960 zones. Each lighting zone contains 16 LEDs connected to a dedicated controller. These controllers can adjust its brightness in 4,096 steps. The size of these lamps is small, each lamp is less than a tenth of a millimeter in length.
The new Mi TV has a Novatek 72685 processor with a Mali-G51 MP4 graphics processor. Supports 5G networks and an artificial intelligence engine that runs 22 image-enhancing algorithms.
Xiaomi's extreme version also includes 8 retractable speakers, including two low-frequency and two mid-frequency amplifiers. The price of this version in China is 7,350 USD.
The Mi TV Master version has a size of 82 inches, but the resolution is only 4K and the refresh rate can be up to 120Hz. It contains 240 local dimming areas and uses miniature LED technology to achieve 4,069 brightness. This version also supports a brightness level of 1,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 140,000: 1.
This version includes the MediaTek 9650 processor and the Mali-G52 MC1 graphics processor. As of October 21, Xiaomi's price for this version will be $ 1,450.
