According to four people familiar with Amazon's mega plan, the annual Amazon 2020 Prime Day sales event begins on Tuesday, October 13th.
To prepare for the sale on Amazon Prime Day in 2020, Amazon has suspended warehouse workers' holidays and worked full-time from October 13-20. The news also coincides with previous data from Amazon, which confirmed that the high profile online event will take place in the fourth quarter of this year.
A spokesperson for Amazon declined to comment on the date. The spokesperson said, "Please find more details about the 2020 annual sales event. Customers can also say, Alexa, please let me know on Golden Day."
We can't say how long the sale will take, so last year Amazon increased its annual sales activity from 36 hours to 48 hours.
Like anything else in 2020, Prime Day has been hit by the coronavirus epidemic and tends to sell in mid-July to boost sales during the slow summer season. However, Amazon delayed the event as retailers struggled to adjust large logistical processes to deal with the surge in online orders and dozens of offers designed to keep warehouse workers safe.
These changes also caused shipping delays for several months, but after shortening the delivery time, Amazon had the option to offer Prime Day.
Amazon is expected to introduce several of its new tools and services to consumers on Day 1: On Thursday, September 24, the company will also hold its annual product launch this fall. There is no indication of the exact forecast, but it is certain. Alexa-equipped devices will be the focus of attention. Last year's event brought equipment like the Echo Dot with a clock, extra small speakers (Echo Flex), and other gear (including Echo Buds and Echo Glow night lights).
The new date will change the dynamics of the event and many Prime customers may be able to purchase Christmas gifts earlier than usual as the deal will take place before the end of the year.
