Xiaomi reveals the secret behind its Mi TV LUX |
Xiaomi has revealed the secret of Xiaomi TV LUX, the world's first group transparent TV.
The Chinese technology giant has released detailed information about the TV production process and has moved all electronic and audio equipment to the shelf underneath the TV. By placing all components in a confined space, Xiaomi must be careful when designing the cooling system. In addition to opening the TV base with holes that help cool the TV, the cooling system also adds a heat sink to heat the chip. .
Although both LCD and OLED screens can be transparent, Xiaomi has opted for OLED screens. Since no backlight is required, a transparent LCD screen requires external lighting.
RGBW color matrix has a unique design, as only half of the screen is covered by pixels while the other half remains transparent. The pixels are sharp enough to appear at a normal viewing distance, and the distance between them is also small so that they can be seen. All pixels are combined into a common viewing lens.
To protect the screen, Xiaomi used a UV-curable glue to stick 55-inch glass to the screen. Then a thin metal frame surrounds the glass to make it solid.
As part of celebrating its 10th anniversary, Xiaomi announced Mi TV LUX last week. The 55-inch TV has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a response time of 1ms, and a contrast ratio of 150,000: 1.
The TV has 93% DCI-P3 color profile and brings the picture to life with 1.07 billion color combinations, far beyond the range that the human eye can see. The TV also supports AI Master for Audio, which intelligently detects the type of content being played and selects the appropriate sound mode from a menu of movies, music, news, sports, etc.
It should be noted that the TV will be listed in China on August 16 at a price of $ 7,000.
