LG announces the introduction of battery-powered air purifier masks

LG has officially announced that it will be wearing a Portable Air Purifying Mask (PuriCare).

Similar to LG's series filters for home air purifiers, this Portable Air Purifier Mask uses a pair of replaceable filters and has a battery-powered fan that makes it easy for you to breathe.

LG said: The air purification mask contains sensors that detect breathing time and these sensors adjust the fan speed accordingly.

Today's announcement - ahead of the IFA 2020 meeting - did not mention any explicit reference to the pandemic (COVID-19), but it broadly indicates that the mask was designed in response to that outbreak.

The company said its wearable air-purification masks are designed to replace the asymmetric household masks that some people wear, as well as the single-use air supply masks, which are said to be in short supply.

When LG first spoke about the mask in July and said it would donate 2,000 devices to a teaching hospital in Seoul, a company executive said in July: They are hoping for the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. Medical staff support.

The company hopes that PuriCare will make it easier for medical staff to wear the masks for several hours.

No statement was made in LG's press release about the air purification mask, which slows the spread of the coronavirus, including filtering the air when you exhale and inhale.

The South Korean company waited for certificates and tests to be completed to find out all the details.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends against using masks with valves or exhalation openings to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Since these masks cannot filter out respiratory spray, they can infect people in close proximity to them.

Since the new LG glasses use an electric fan, they must be opened for them to function properly.

LG said: The PuriCare Portable Air Purifier Mask has an 820mAh battery that can be used for up to 8 hours in low power mode, while it can be reduced to 2 hours in high power mode. .

LG's announcement does not say exactly when the mask will be launched or how much it will cost, but it does indicate that it will be available in certain markets in the last quarter of this year.
