Why should I upgrade OS version to original SSD before uninstalling?

MacOS versions 10.13 High Sierra, 10.14 Mojave, and 10.15 Catalina include EFI firmware updates on motherboard for PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD updates.

With MacOS 10.12 Sierra, Mac OS X, or earlier fixed EFI versions, the original PCIe 2.0 AHCI SSD can only work properly.

The firmware version changes with the system update, even if SSD is turned off, it will remain on the motherboard.
