Samsung announces advanced sensor for 50-megapixel phones |
Samsung today announced a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN1 image sensor for smartphones.
The Korean technology giant said in an article: ISOCELL GN1 is the first sensor to integrate 2-pixel autofocus technology and 4-pixel fusion technology, which enables the sensor to achieve fast, high-quality performance in low-light conditions.
The pixel size of the new sensor is just 1.2 microns, and it appears to be competing with Sony's new IMX689 sensor in mobile phones, for example: Oppo Find X2 Pro with 48 megapixels and 1.22 micron pixels.
Samsung has announced the launch of Hittite phones with strong specifications
I think adding the 2-pixel focus technology would be a welcome step, especially after the Galaxy S20 Ultra (which uses a 108-megapixel camera without this technology) automatically suffers from poor focus performance, the company said it will fix. .
Combining high-precision and fast AF technology is also a priority when Samsung uses the new ISOCELL GN1 sensor. The company said that the sensor entered mass production this month so that it could access the smartphone soon.
