Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 580 |
I was looking for a new GPU 2010 Mac Pro to switch to OSX Mojave (requires card that can handle metal). This is one of the cards recommended by Apple. As mentioned earlier, a small adapter cable from 6 to 8 pins is required to operate the device from the motherboard. In this way, all 6-pin miniature consumables can be combined to secure the card. I couldn't find a suitable amazon, so I found it on Ebay for 7.95 € (including shipping) and got it in about 4 days.
The card is easy to install. When the device is turned on, the computer freezes on the gray screen with the Apple logo. To try different attempts, I went to safe mode, and to my surprise the card started working normally. Then I can start normally and the card works fine. Unlike some reports, I can see the Apple logo and progress bar as normal at startup. After that I upgraded the system from High Sierra to Mojave, no problem. Previously, I got an error message during the update process that the device should be updated.

The software package does not include instructions for Mac compatibility, and there is no OSX download from Sapphire. At first I was nervous, but others wrote that High Sierra couldn't play cards without problems. you are right.
