Report: Google develops a special processor for Chromebook phones and computers |
According to a new report, Google is extensively developing its own processor, which will be used on its pixel smartphones next year. A later version of the processor is used on the company's Chromebook.
According to Axios, the Whitechapel processor could be an ARM 8 core architecture built with Samsung's 5nm technology.
I think Google, like its competitor Apple, is striving for independence by producing its own processors for iPhone and iPad. According to the report, the new wizard can be improved to run Google’s machine learning technology, some of which can be used specifically to improve Google Assistant performance.
It should be noted that Google already produces custom chips to perform certain functions on its devices, as some Pixel phones have a security chip called Titan M, while phones (Pixel 4) have an additional processing called Pixel Neural Core Device. However, the major processor of Google phones comes from Qualcomm, like many Android phones on the market.
