Huawei uses DSLR images to promote a photography competition with its phones |
Huawei displayed photos taken with Huawei smartphones in a video to promote the photo competition (Huawei Next-Image 2020). However, it turned out that some of the photos were taken with a DSLR, although one of the most important conditions for the competition was success. Take photos and videos on Huawei or Honor phones. .
This was discovered by the Chinese blogging platform Weibo (Jamie hua), i.e. H. Zhao Huapeng, who won second place in the IPPAWARDS Photography 2018 award when taking photos with iPhone 6.
Zhao Huaping noticed that the photos in the Huawei video looked familiar, and decided to look at them. He later found that the imaging equipment was the Nikon D850, not a smartphone.
Pictures related to Cycads can be found on the online community photography platform 500 pixels (500 pixels). Huawei should apologize via the Weibo platform and claim that the photos were selected due to the publisher's neglect.
The Chinese company explained that the purpose of these images is to encourage people to share their work in Huawei exhibitions online, and to update the original video to remove the line that said that the image was taken by Huawei cell phone, however it has always been mentioned that the community took this picture (next image from Huawei) . .
The representative of the company noted that the Chinese competition rules state that captured images can be published with any device in the Huawei Next Image community.
Huawei has been repeatedly accused of using DSLR camera images for smartphone cameras, and in 2016 it admitted to using Canon EOS 5D Mark III images for Huawei P9.
The company also said that the above mentioned mobile phone has two Leica cameras, which is also controversial, although the famous German company only manufactured certain parts of the camera, not the lens or sensor.
Two years later, a Reddit user discovered that a DSLR camera was used to photograph the self-portrait displayed on the Huawei Nova 3 screen.
Last year, Huawei also used DSLR images to sell flagship phones (Huawei P30). At the time, the company said that the photos in the trailer should be technical translations of camera phone functions, which should involve new jobs in the future.
