Google introduces a new Android keyboard for the blind

Google announced today (Thursday) the launch of a new keyboard that supports Braille to facilitate the writing of blind people on their Android mobile devices.

"150 years ago, Braille's invention was revolutionary to make blind people read and write," an American tech giant said in a blog post. Nowadays, Braille can write on most phones and computers that have real Braille keyboards. Each time you want to type quickly on your phone, it may take some time to connect an external device. ""

Now there is a new virtual braille keyboard built directly into the Android system. Google said: It is a fast and convenient way to write on the phone without another device, regardless of whether it is a device for blind posting on social networks, text messages are always short emails.

While developing this feature, thanks to the cooperation of the Google team with developers and Braille users, all books will be known in Braille. The keyboard uses a standard layout with 6 keys, and each key represents one of Braille's six points. Any character or symbol can be created by pressing the braille point. For example, if you type A, you can press points 1 and B, then points 1 and 2.

The keyboard can be used anywhere on the phone and allow users to delete letters and words, add fonts and send text. Once you switch between international keyboards, you can activate and deactivate the keyboard.

Note that the TalkBalk Braille keyboard is now available for all Android devices version 5.0 or above. It will be available initially in English.
