Sony has announced additional specifications for the PlayStation 5 |
Sony announced today (Wednesday) that the specifications for the next generation PlayStation 5 platform will be available later this year.
The Japanese company said: (PlayStation 5) will include a dedicated version of the AMD Zen 2 processor 3.5 GHz and a copy of the AMD RDNA 2 graphics processor with 10.28 Teraflop. Sony added that the platform will include 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM and 825 GB SSD.
Sony focused on SSD's ability to accelerate game loading when launching the specifications (PlayStation 5), and compared non-technology platforms (PlayStation 4) and (PlayStation 5) 20 seconds as needed. It took only 1 second for GB to download while transferring and transferring the other 5 GB of data.
The company said: (PlayStation 5) will not only support NVMe SSD SSDs, but also external storage drives that support legacy platform games (PlayStation 4). The company previously announced that the platform will be equipped with a 4K Blu-ray laser engine.
For comparison, Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X from Microsoft share certain specifications, including processor and graphics specifications. However, Microsoft's platform is more powerful, only 12 teraflops instead of 10.28 teraflops. The Xbox Storage X 1TB instead has 825GB capacity.
It should be noted that Sony previously stated that the platform will support the display of 8K games and 4K games at a rate of 120 fps. It will also support 3D sound technology and energy saving power saving modes and is compatible with PlayStation 4 platform games.
