| Report: Smart amplifier sales hit record highs in 2019 |
According to a recent market analyst (strategy analysis) report on the state of the smart amplifier market, global sales of smart amplifiers reached a record high of $ 146.9 million last year. Units, an increase of 70% compared to 2018.
Although Amazon is still ahead of the US market, the report shows that its global market share has declined due to increased demand from Chinese sellers. However, the Amazon Echo brand continued to dominate global sales of smart headphones by 26.2% in 2019, but that percentage increased by 33.7% in 2018.

Although Amazon and Google America are one of the main competitors in the market, the decline in Amazon's share has not benefited Google, but the company's share has decreased from 25.9% in 2018 to 20.3% last year. However, in 2019, Amazon and Google maintained leading positions in North America and Europe, accounting for more than three quarters of sales from smart amplifiers. Meanwhile, shares of Chinese companies Baidu, Alibaba and Xiaomi rose in 2019. Apple is still ranked sixth with 4.7% ranking.
The report says, these numbers will be better in the last quarter of 2019, just because of the Christmas business season, when sellers lowered the price of smart speakers in the lower-tier category to encourage purchases and other Christmas sales. During this quarter, Amazon dominated the market with 15.8 million units shipped, followed by Google (13.9 million units) and the Chinese brand Baidu (about 5.9 million units).
The sales volume of smart amplifiers in the fourth quarter has been the highest so far at 55.7 million units. This is because of strong holiday sales in the US and Europe in the last three months of 2019. In addition, Google's smart speaker business has improved after launching several new products.
Even from the current supply and demand situation due to the halo virus epidemic, strategic analysts predict that 2020 will be another record year for smart amplifiers.
