Microsoft plans to install its antivirus application on Android and iOS |
Microsoft announced plans to launch Defender Antivirus on Android and iOS mobile devices later this year.
The US software giant is developing applications for Google and Apple operating systems, which aim to provide antivirus protection for desktop-type users.
The mobile antivirus application tested the regular preview version of Defender on MacOS for Apple Mac computers after about a year.
Since iOS can prevent apps on smartphones and iPhones from searching for malware, mobile protection apps should differ slightly from desktop versions. The situation is different for the Android system because the system allows this and there are already many protection applications.
By running the Defender app for iOS and Android, Microsoft wants to prevent phishing by preventing company employees from accidentally disclosing usernames, passwords, or other account information.
It is worth noting that the Defender mobile app will be part of Microsoft's security system, so it is unlikely that the average consumer will have it at hand.
