Google Translate supports five new languages for the first time in four years

Google announced today (Wednesday) that its translation service added 5 new languages for the first time in 4 years, bringing the total number of languages provided by the service to 108.

In an article, the tech giant said that 75 million people speak these five new languages, including Kinyarwanda, Idia, Tatars, Turkmen, and Uyghur, and that the last three belong to the Turkish family. Also belongs to: Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Kazakh and many other less used languages.

And since Google's translation service relies on artificial intelligence to support a new language, the company has to find a lot of text on the Internet to train its machine learning models, which is difficult for supported languages today. Another issue is to identify a sufficient number of community members who can help Google improve the model to the language level that is widely used. However, the company says that progress has been made on both fronts in recent years.

Google said that the translation service will support text translation and translation of the site's five new languages, and will support writing in three languages, namely Kinyarwanda, Tatar and Uygur.

Since the Uyghurs are the language of 12 million Uyghur Muslims in East Turkestan, the support of Uyghurs, which China calls the Uyghur region, is of particular importance during this time.
