| Google supports Siri Shortcuts in Gmail Here's how to use it |
Since Apple introduced features in iOS 12, Siri shortcuts have grown and found a way out in many applications. With this great feature, you can quickly add orders to Siri to perform common in-app operations like: order your favorite coffee or check the status of your flight.
Currently, Google has inserted Siri shortcuts in its iOS app because Gmail on iPhone and iPad now supports this feature, but there is only one thing.
Gmail users can now use iOS with Siri shortcuts to create a shortcut they can use to send emails with Siri. After adding the shortcut, say "Hey Siri, send an email", and the Gmail app will start in Messenger mode so you can quickly write an email.
Email creation is the only feature currently available in the iOS Gmail app. If you want to enable it, you can do so via the Gmail Settings section or via Siri Shortcut.
To add shortcuts to Siri:
You can open any shortcut by requesting a shortcut from Siri. Simply search for (Add to Siri) button and click on it in the Favorites app to add a phrase with your voice, or go to (Settings) to search all the shortcuts available on your device. You may not need to open the app on your iOS device. Shortcuts are available on HomePod and Apple Watch.
Add a shortcut from a third-party app:
- Open the app on your iOS device and click "Add to Siri".
- Click the record button, then use your voice to record the phrase telling Siri to activate the link, and make sure to record a simple, easy-to-remember phrase.
- Click "Finish".
Add a shortcut from Siri Shortcut app settings:
- Go to settings on iOS device and select (Siri and Search).
- You will find three suggested links. Click the option (all shortcuts) to see more actions from different apps.
- Click the plus sign. To record a phrase with your voice, press the record button and try to record a simple, easy-to-remember phrase.
- Click (Finish).
