Google supports Earth service for Firefox, Edge, and Opera |
Google announced on Wednesday that it will support web versions of the Maps service in other web browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Mozilla's Firefox and Opera.
The US tech giant launched a web version of (Earth) in 2017 and then stopped the service desktop app. However, the web version of the service has only been available for Chrome since.
The reason for this is that the web version of Google was launched with support from NaCI technology, where Google can use its native C ++ code and implement it directly on Chrome to improve the service. ,
During the next three years, Google supported new web standards such as WebAssembly that developers can use to bring the original code to the web. Next, Google has tested the ability to switch from NaCI technology to WebAssembly in the past six months, and it now appears that this (Earth) move has successfully enabled the web version for Firefox, Edge, and Opera browsers. Thanks to Apple itself, the Apple Safari browser is still an exception.
"We still have a lot to do," the Google Earth team said in a post. He added: "This is to improve our experience with all these browsers and increase Safari support." Google announced last year that the Earth service could support Safari, provided that Apple supports WebGL2 technology in its browser.
Firefox, Edge, and Opera users can access the Earth service from their website.
