I am fed up with getting my Android TV box to play all streaming services and 4k content. It's too hot, making it hard for me to be able to do that.
Thanks to Intel HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake GT1), this small Intel Celeron J3455 processor with integrated HEVC / H.265 hardware decoding can get the job done more efficiently!
Basically, this means that 4K content can be played without problems and overheating.
In this case, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM is more than enough.
I like the ability to run up to 3 independent 4K high resolution displays so that I can use them in multiple display modes, for example B. In inexpensive VCR settings or in vendor settings.
It has two HDMI and VGA ports, a large number of USB 3, and a microSD card reader.
The connection to the network was very good and I used a gigabit network connection so there was no delay.
Wifi supports 5G AC standard and Bluetooth V4.2 on game pad and keyboard / mouse beat instantly, without any problems in range or latency.
It is almost silent and almost silent when running the fan.
Windows 10 was preinstalled on an internal 64GB SSD. Windows 10 is super fast and can run in two minutes. Inside there is a SATA HDD / SSD hook, which can be easily extended by pulling the black screws from the lock and the top cover.
Out of curiosity, I finally ran everything and there was a PCI / e slot on the other side of the card and a USB-C port to power the computer. Perhaps everyone can play an advantage for themselves with it.
However, watch out for all flexible cables and antennas.
When I turned on the computer, there was a small blue LED indicator in front of it, but it was working all the time without flickering at night. If someone finds it too bright, it can be easily removed from the map.
So I decided to let Ubuntu handle this little guy and I'm not disappointed! The capacity of the SATA SSD pop-ups is 512 GB. Ubuntu can be used with all network devices in 15 minutes and everything is working right from the start. The BIOS includes all the latest boot options, like EFI, and also supports older drivers, so I have an option now if I'm using Windows or Ubuntu.
I can't enjoy this little guy, I am happy to be able to choose the operating system to run, and the customization options are endless! My friend also bought one for this app to launch HomeAssistant and use it as a NAS / Smart Home server.
