ARRIS Surfboard SBG6700AC Plus AC1600 Cable Modem
We have verified the configuration of older modems and routers for as long as possible so that we encountered frequent disconnections. We bought a TP Link modem router and had two problems. So I did a little research before I found out.
It has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, but for most devices connected over WiFi, this is not a problem because I only need to connect one computer.
Speed tests are very consistent, even at peak times, the use of Cox cables with a 100MB / s plan can reach 95MB / s. Although there is a speed of about 300 Mbps everywhere, we decided to upgrade it to the new internet level. The WiFi range is very big, we live in a two and a half storey house, and the whole house coverage is very good. The device is located on the ground floor at the northern end of the house and the FireTV and Xbox joystick is at the other end of the house in the basement. We did not separate any of our devices in the old environment.
The configuration is simple. I connected to it and all the cables connected and called Cox. You ask for the model and Mac address (both at the bottom of the device or in the inner box), then reset the device remotely and once it's turned on, we can establish a connection and terminate. This process can be performed quickly and easily with just one device. Also note that the device is much smaller than expected and does not take up much space.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to switch to a modem router. It is worth it. I made a mistake when I chose the cheapest TP TP that collapsed and burned ... twice. In this case, more money was spent.
