I bought these games to keep in touch with my kids while playing nearby. We live in a dense suburb with lots of trees, buildings and power lines, so the range is limited. I was able to walk half a mile before the signal went down. This is fine for my purpose, but don't buy because you expect to reach the maximum distance for the ad. It is a horizontal area under ideal conditions, without obstructions or collisions of radio signals. Overall, it is a very good product and works well. The charging station is very practical. My child and I are very happy with these wireless devices.
