Review Galaxy A51 From Samsung |
According to Samsung, the Galaxy A51 is one of the first phones in the series to offer an Infinity-O display and a macro camera. In addition to these unique features, it shares many of the same previous specs, including AMOLED displays, processors and aesthetic design. There is not much competition for this level of prices.
Samsung Galaxy A51 design
The design of the Samsung Galaxy A51 cover is similar to the design of the Galaxy A50. We have a polycarbonate body that weighs only 172 grams, and is also very light, only 7.9 mm thick. The slim body easily captures fingerprints, but is not visible on the Prism Crush Black. The back cover is a little slippery, but fortunately Samsung has included a box.
The biggest change is the Infinity-O display, which can be seen for the first time in the Galaxy A series. Basically, it's a slot in the top center of the screen, similar to the slot in the top center of the screen that we saw in the Galaxy Note 10+ (display). The design of the Samsung bag may not change significantly, but the perforated screen does not make this phone look particularly good, and we appreciate that. Galaxy A51 uses Super AMOLED panel in Full HD, which produces excellent colors and units. Thanks to the thin glasses, they look great on the front.
Practical setting for buttons, correct, we have a nano SIM card and a microSD card slot. Below, you'll find the usual headphone jack, a USB Type-C connector, and the handsfree phone network. Galaxy A51 has a common rear view camera malfunction, but now it's a fourth camera. Bumps do not go away, which is good.
Galaxy A51 has standard accessories, 15W fast charger, Type-C cable, headphone, SIM eject tool and case.

Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications and software
Samsung is already using the same Exynos 9611 processor as the Galaxy A50, and by 2020 the Galaxy A50 will be slightly lower price. Galaxy A51 is available with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM, and both options have 128 GB internal memory. Other technical data includes dual-band 802.11ac WiFi radio, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC, and FM radio. There are commonly used sensors and this phone is also based on Widevine L1. Galaxy A51 supports Samsung Pay, so you can use it to make payments.
The program that runs on the phone outside the device is Samsung One UI 2.0, based on Android10. The new version is similar to the previous version of the single user interface we used previously, but Samsung has made some improvements to improve its usability. Changing the background image has become a lot easier since there is a dedicated menu instead of redirecting you to the topic.
Other small changes relate to the search for notifications about accessing permissions in apps, which are now displayed at the bottom of the screen and are no longer in the middle. The machine maintenance sub menu also has a new look. You can now track battery usage in the past seven days, not only since the phone is fully charged. You can now change the screen lock application icon, change the default recorder shortcut, DnD camera, or flashlight.
Pre-installed bloatware is still present, including third-party apps and some Samsung apps (like Samsung Shop), but most of them can be uninstalled. Samsung has also added Indian features to the Galaxy A51, such as the ability to organize your text messages in the form of a visual card, multilingual predictive writing and a smart crop, which claims to discover the most relevant parts of screenshots and save them with one click, and we found that Smart Crop works better when the screenshot contains On pictures.

Samsung Galaxy A51 performance and battery life
In everyday use, the Galaxy A51 is very similar to the Galaxy A50. We love the thin and very light shape. Switching interfaces is relatively fast, but the operation is not smooth. In some cases, we have noticed system animation delays. Standard performance is good, as are Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 665 SoC. Although Samsung asked for the phone, it was a little disappointing.
We achieved 1,862,220 points on AnTuTu and spent 42 fps on the GFXbench T-Rex test. The back of the phone looked a little warm while playing and when the printing apps became scarce, there was no inconvenience. Fortunately, SoC Exynos 9611 has excellent graphics processing features. PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends operate in an excellent environment.
Biometric authentication works well, but is a little slow. It takes a while on the screen fingerprint sensor to verify your identity and unlock the phone. This corresponds to face recognition.
Galaxy A51 supports Dolby Atmos, but only if you have plugged in a wired headset. The sound quality of the built-in headphones is average, but after starting up, this phone looks better with a higher percentage of headphones. The sound from the subwoofer is not loud, but it is sufficient for personal listening. The screen is one of the best aspects of this phone. The brightness is very good and the colors are very bright, which makes watching the content very enjoyable.
Samsung used a 4000 mAh battery for the Galaxy A51 and agreed to a 14-hour and 55-minute battery life in HD video testing. We easily managed to use a whole day regularly and have enough energy to spend another half day. During fast charging, we were able to charge the battery to 67% in one hour. It took more than 2 hours to fully charge. It is relatively fast, but not as fast as other industrial products like the Redmi K20 Pro, which can reach 80% in an hour.

Samsung Galaxy A51 camera
Samsung has expanded the three cameras on the Galaxy A50 with a new 5MP macro camera. It includes a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP wide camera and a 5MP depth sensor.
In One UI 2.0, the camera app is slightly improved and icons are a little different now. Most shooting modes are now listed in the "More" menu. However, you can add it to the main viewfinder if needed.
The main camera can take 12-megapixel high-resolution photos, but you can also take full 48-megapixel photos if needed. This option is hidden in the descent list. Thanks to good lighting, the Galaxy A51 can capture detailed snapshots of objects in the center of the image. However, objects on the edges generally appear somewhat indistinct and soft.
In the dark, the main camera gets good colors and the details are well presented without any noise. There is a special night mode, but compared to the photos taken in the standard photo mode, we found that there is not much difference because the Optimizer Scene Optimizer automatically adjusts the parameters when it detects that the light is insufficient.
The wide-angle camera can capture many scenes in the photo, but it causes undesirable distortion of the lens barrel. Even if the Super Lens Correction option is activated, some images still appear abnormally distorted. The pictures taken with this camera in poor lighting conditions are much darker and contain less detail. Night mode does not help here either.

If you focus directly on the background, the image may become more exciting. Good image quality and deep camera that supports the Galaxy A51 in Edge Detection. You can adjust blur here, but other effects are missing in this mode, for example b. Spot colors that we see on other Galaxy phones.
Close-up becomes very good. In good lighting conditions, the focusing speed is sufficient and we can take good photos. If you use a macro camera, you can work around the topic. The color is not bad and the sensor recognizes certain details.
Galaxy A51 can record videos at up to 4K speed, but without any stability. If you shoot in good lighting conditions the video quality is also good, but in poor lighting conditions the shots look grainy and the details are poor. You can stabilize at 1080p, but this also leads to a noticeable glow when walking. Continuous auto focus is also a bit slow. This effect is amplified in low light and appears to be very unstable. You can use the "Super Still" recording mode, which uses a wide-angle camera to record videos. Good stability, but details are weak.
The 32MP front camera captures 12MP or 8MP pictures, depending on the specific viewing angle. Portraits are usually blunt. The complexion becomes softer and the shooting ends in an overall look. Details work well in dim lighting, but the sharpness decreases slightly.
Other shooting modes include Pro, Panorama, Food, Hyperlapse, Super Slow Motion and Slow Motion, which we have already seen on Samsung phones. You can access Bixby Vision and AR Emoji from the Camera app. Galaxy A51 also supports AR Doodle, which we first saw in the Galaxy S10 series.
