Instagram launches anti-bullying feature online |
Instagram's photo and video sharing service today announced that it has introduced a new feature to warn users before issuing potential abusive messages as a new anti-bullying initiative.
"Starting today, we launched a new feature to notify users when they believe an image or video title is offensive and give them the ability to pause and review their words." Instagram said. ,
The company said that publishing this feature is part of its commitment to fighting bullying online and is based on an artificial intelligence technology that can be used to identify various forms of bullying on Instagram. ,
Instagram introduced a feature earlier this year that warns users that their comments may be misused before they leave a comment. The company said: The results are encouraging, and the new feature stems from the fact that the ability to give people an opportunity encourages them to rethink their words.
Instagram said: "If someone comments on a feed post today, our AI understands that the title can be offensive, and you'll get an instant message stating that the title is similar to that post in Reason for Bullying. You will be able to change the translation before it's released."
The company added that this warning will not only limit bullying, but also help people understand what is not allowed in Instagram and when it might violate our rules. This feature will be available in many countries around the world in the coming months.
