China announces the expiry date of its competing US GPS system

China announced on Friday that its global positioning system will compete with the American positioning system and it will be a new step for the emerging Chinese giant in the first half of next year to become independent from American technology.

According to the Nikkei Asian Review, the Beidou Space Network (unlike Big Dipper) will be the first service to compete with the U.S. Air Force's GPS tracking system and projected networks. It already has a huge user base, as more than 70% of Chinese smartphones are ready to be used.

Beidou is an integral part of China's long-term plan to control next-generation telecom services and poses a major challenge to America's dominance of telecom infrastructure and China's advances in 5G radio technology.

According to Ran Shengzhi, Associate Press Project Manager, China plans to launch the last two necessary satellites to operate the Beidou system by June 2020. By designing a system, the Chinese GPS system will work on the fifth generation of wireless technology networking technologies, and China will get the largest market share New communication services.

According to Market Research Company (Counterpoint), Chinese smartphone companies currently account for more than 40% of global sales in the second quarter of 2019.

It is worth noting that GPS in China is not new since China began operating in China in 2000 and then launched it in Asia and the Pacific in 2012. The 35 Chinese satellite networks cover the network of American systems currently in use.

Space is a strategic area for the Chinese government. China has achieved important goals for advancement, including quantum communications, backed by its space capabilities, and the exploration of early humans via the moon. China plans to study Mars in 2020 while preparing to build a space station by 2022.

The Nikkei Times quoted Chinese government media as saying that the value of Bidu-related goods and services would reach 57 billion dollars by 2020.
