MOTOROLA MOCA MM1000 uses a coaxial cable network to provide reliable, high-speed Ethernet communication over a coaxial cable between the router and the Ethernet device. The device can be an HDTV, computer, game console, wireless extender, or other device, even if it is not connected to the router. The MM1000 MoCA adapter is faster and more reliable than WiFi. Since MoCA can easily handle video and other bulk connections via coaxial cables, the WiFi capacity is released and WiFi devices can use more WiFi bandwidth to increase the speed. Bonded 2.0 MoCA is extremely fast with speeds of up to 1000Mbps and can be used with all MoCA types, including MoCA 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and 2.5. MoCA subscribes to coaxial cables and does not interfere with TV or Internet services. Requires a MoCA function built into the router or provided by a MoCA adapter. (Most FiOS routers have MoCA functionality, but most routers and other modems / routers require MoCA adapters.) For each device you want to connect to the router via MoCA, you also need a MoCA adapter. You can connect up to 16 devices to the router. The MoCA MM1000 adapter is easy to install and the components can be easily connected without configuration. To install MoCA, coaxial cables near the router and near Ethernet compatible devices must be used to connect to the router. The MoCA MM1000 adapter can be used in a coaxial network for cable TV, wired internet, FiOS, or any other fiber optic network. It should not be used with coaxial cables used with DirecTV, Dish or other types of satellite television networks, AT&T and AT&T U-Verse.
