Asus ROG Zephyrus Thin and Portable Gaming is the first 100% gaming laptop, and although it was destroyed by this device, that doesn't mean I won't notice some of its problems. First, in terms of speed, Windows 10 will run very quickly on shutdown, even if it installs updates during reboot. I don't have a device to process updates faster. For example, when I download some Steam Valve games over Wi-Fi, I find that the speed is about the same as that achieved with a fixed Ethernet connection. My game speed is 65 Mbps, twice the speed of 35 Mbps I use with all the other computers I've tried. I connected to 5 GHz to get these speeds, and I didn't care that 2.4 GHz on the router signal had already installed many broadcasters.
When it comes to installing and / or downloading software and multitasking, Zeph M is extremely flexible and responsive, so you can change apps seamlessly. The i7-9750h is equipped with a Hexacore processor that runs from 2.6 to 4.5 GHz. This feature is linked to 16-frame DDR4 RAM with Max-Q design and Ge-Force RTX 2070 graphics. There is a 1TB SSD that corresponds to the speed and smoothness mentioned above very well, and the start and stop times are very short. The sound has an incredible three-dimensional meaning, although this effect is only visible in extremely quiet rooms. But one of the small drawbacks to this sound is that the maximum volume in the Inventory app (and volume control in Windows 10) is not too high due to persistent background noise. If you meet this condition, it is like a small theater on your lap.
There are some disadvantages to mention: they come with a moderate amount of bloating, and because they are free trials, some of the most personalized programs are disappointing, and I noticed it only after installing them. This makes such programs for me instead of additional bloatware. In addition, this laptop does not come with the camera. Preinstalled Skype is aggressive enough to remind you that you need to install a camera or uninstall Skype. No SD card slot. Today many standard devices are used on relatively low-cost devices. There is also no CD / DVD player / calculator, although this is not surprising as these devices can also be considered an outdated technology. I think this particular step has also been taken to get this laptop through its sleek and modern look. To compensate, there are 3 standard USB ports and 1 USB-C. The remaining inputs are Ethernet ports, headphones, HDMI and microphone.
The system uses a lot of power so the battery explodes easily. Although plugged in, it can charge up to 96% of the fee. I'm afraid to be defective, but it will reach 100% after stopping shipping. It can be very hot and the internal sounds can rise too. By making some changes, some of these problems can be resolved, and the built-in software can help you customize various profiles for this purpose.
For me, the best thing that attracts my attention is the design. This is the perfect polished titanium alloy skin 15.6 inches and a beautiful bright red logo. Great touch, smooth and very quiet to touch. The keyboard comes with an aura that illuminates the buttons in the rainbow of colors, patterns, pulses and more. Column and associated key codes are well lit and easy to understand. You can adjust the light indicator on the keyboard. No numeric keypad, but who cares? It's beautiful enough to forgive you. These functions consume battery power. I recommend using them only when the device is connected to a power source. I must say it's a very impressive system, and if you can afford it, I'll tell you ... you won't be disappointed with its performance.
